The Villa: Stucco Repair and Repaint on a Spanish-Style Home
Broken stucco down to the brick, cracked walls and faded ironwork, rebuilt and repainted with green trim and red wrought iron.

- LocationSan Diego
- PropertyTwo-story Spanish-style stucco home with tile roof
- ScopeStucco repair, exterior repaint, wrought iron
The problem
This Spanish-style home had long cracks running across its stucco walls, and in places the stucco had broken away completely, exposing the brick underneath. The wrought iron railings, gates and window grilles were faded and starting to rust.
What we did
- Cut out broken and loose stucco and rebuilt the damaged sections
- Patched long cracks along the side walls under a shade canopy so the patches cured evenly
- Matched the hand-applied stucco texture so repairs disappear under paint
- Masked the tile roof eaves, windows and doors
- Painted the stucco white with deep green window trim and trellis
- Prepped and repainted the wrought iron railings, gates, handrails and window grilles in red
The result
A classic Spanish-style home that looks the way it was meant to, with walls that are sealed against water instead of letting it in through the cracks. This is the kind of job where being a licensed general contractor as well as a painter makes the difference. See stucco painting and repairs.
