Outdoor Living Area: Beams, Columns and an Accent Wall
Patio beams, decorative iron columns, walls, frames and gutters painted to give a well-used outdoor space new life.

- LocationSan Diego
- PropertySingle-story home with covered patio
- ScopePatio cover, iron columns, walls, frames and gutters
The goal
The owner wanted to give their outdoor living space new life: somewhere to spend weekends and afternoons with friends and family.
What we did
- Painted the patio cover beams and rafters
- Hand-brushed the decorative metal columns, with rust treatment where needed
- Painted the walls, window and door frames, siding and gutters
- Added an orange accent wall at the patio entrance
The result
A covered patio that feels like an extra room. Overhead beams and metal columns take patience to paint without drips on the patio below, which is why everything was covered first. See patio covers and pergolas.
