Painting in La Mesa

House Painting in La Mesa

From early farmhouses and mid-century ranch homes to stucco tract houses and the downtown village, La Mesa has seen it all. Inland heat and sun mean paint needs the right prep here.

Quick answerDouble G paints homes and small commercial buildings in La Mesa, from early farmhouses and ranch homes to stucco tract houses and the village. Inland heat and sun fade and chalk paint faster here, so we prep carefully, repair stucco and siding first, and choose UV-resistant finishes.

Painting in La Mesa

La Mesa began more than a century ago as an agricultural community and grew into family neighborhoods and a busy downtown village. Home styles range from Victorian-era farmhouses to mid-century ranch homes and modern tract houses, plus Mount Helix-area hillside homes.

Signs it's time to repaint

  • Faded or chalky paint, especially on south- and west-facing walls
  • Cracking and peeling on wood trim and fascia
  • Hairline cracks in stucco that let moisture in
  • An outdated color scheme that's hurting your home's curb appeal

More than paint

Many older La Mesa properties need repairs before painting. We check siding and stucco for cracks and chips and patch them so they don't leak, and as a licensed general contractor we can handle restoration and replacement on the same job. Proper prep gives you better protection and a longer-lasting finish.

Amazing! That's the easiest way to say it. From the initial contact through to the very end, everything was amazing with Double G Painting. We needed the exterior of our 1911 Craftsman painted, along with some restoration work, and they made everything look great. So easy to work with. The painters were complete pros -- and awesome people to boot. Would highly recommend Double G to anyone looking to get their house painted.

I had a wonderful experience with Double G Painting. They installed new flooring in our home and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. The team was friendly, professional, and kept everything clean while they worked. The floors look amazing and you can really tell they take pride in their work. I’d definitely recommend Double G to anyone needing flooring done.

We had Double G paint our nearly 100-year-old house. First, we needed some carpentry work done. David came and did an excellent job repairing a rotted out door threshold and replacing some shingles. Carlos and Francisco did the painting, and they too did an excellent job. They did a lot of prep work on our windows and doors and then did a meticulous job of painting. They were always cheerful, seemed to enjoy the work and were easy to work with if we had concerns. We are very pleased with the results!

FAQ

Painting in La Mesa: FAQ

Is exterior paint different for inland La Mesa versus the coast?

The products are similar, but the stress is different. La Mesa gets more heat and stronger sun than the coast, so fading and chalking on south and west walls is the main issue. We choose colors and finishes that hold up to UV, and we time work to avoid painting hot surfaces in direct afternoon sun.

When is it time to repaint a La Mesa home?

Common signs are fading, chalking (paint rubs off on your hand), cracking or peeling, and hairline stucco cracks. Faded paint also hurts curb appeal if you're thinking of selling.

Do you paint businesses in La Mesa?

Yes. We paint storefronts, offices and small commercial buildings, and we can schedule around business hours. See commercial painting.
